Organic Gluten-Free Oats

Packed with good carbs, high-quality protein, and dietary fiber to keep you feeling fuller for longer, oats are low GI and have a good balance of essential amino acids that are vital for keeping your body functioning well. Our gluten-free old-fashioned rolled oats help your body to synthesize protein, repair tissue, and absorb the nutrients you need every day. Old-fashioned oats are made from whole oat kernels (also called groats) that have been steamed and rolled.

Whole grain oats are among the most nutrient-dense foods you can eat. High in beta-glucans, they stimulate your immune system, encourage weight loss, and promote gut health. Studies have shown that eating oats may also help lower LDL or “bad” cholesterol and reduce the risk of heart disease. They’re also a good source of B and E vitamins and minerals like magnesium.

More than 40 percent of Brekky is made up of these nutrient-dense grains. Our oats are certified gluten-free and Kosher, whole grain, vegan, USDA organic, and non-GMO.

Organic Almonds & Walnuts

Nuts like almonds and walnuts are packed with vitamins, minerals, protein, omega-3 fatty acids, and fiber. Nuts contain unsaturated fatty acids known as “good” fats that help lower bad cholesterol levels.  When eaten as part of a balanced diet, almonds and walnuts are some of the healthiest nuts to incorporate into your day.

Walnuts have the highest level of antioxidants of all different kinds of nuts. Studies have shown that these antioxidants might help your body fight cancers like colon and breast cancer.  The polyphenols in walnuts have also been found to help reduce inflammation in the body.

High in calcium, vitamin E, magnesium, and fiber, almonds can help lower your cholesterol, have been linked to a reduced risk of heart disease and diabetes, and have also been linked to a healthier gut. They also contain calcium and phosphorus for stronger bone health.

Our almonds and walnuts are USDA organic, kosher, and grown in California.

Organic Pumpkin Seeds & Sunflower Seeds

Pumpkin and sunflower seeds have a mild nutty taste and are high in essential amino acids, healthy fats, protein, and magnesium – an important mineral for heart health.

A good source of iron, calcium, and selenium, sunflower seeds offer a high amount of antioxidants and a dense vitamin profile. They have anti-inflammatory properties and are high in all B complex vitamins, vitamin E, and vitamin C. Incorporating sunflower seeds in your daily diet supports red blood cell formation, helps reduce anxiety, promotes nervous system health, and improves energy levels.

Pumpkin seeds are higher in protein, phosphorus, and vitamin A than sunflower seeds. They also contain vitamin K, potassium, zinc, and choline. One of the only alkaline-forming seeds, pumpkin seeds are good for your cardiovascular health, can improve cognitive function, and help build strong bones. And did you know that they also contain tryptophan which can help you sleep better?

Our tiny but mighty sunflower seeds and pumpkin seeds have been certified organic by California Certified Organic Farmers (CCOF).

Organic Brown Flaxseed Meal

Packed full of omega-3 fatty acids, polyunsaturated fatty acids, cancer-fighting lignans, thiamine, copper, and fiber, flaxseed is one of the original superfoods. We use organic ground brown flaxseed, aka flaxseed meal, because it’s much easier for your body to digest than whole flaxseed. Many breakfast cereals still use whole flaxseed – which is harder for our digestive systems to break down because of its tough outer shell.

Flaxseed meal can improve digestive health because it’s fiber rich. It also helps reduce bad cholesterol and reduce the risk of heart disease. Flaxseed is a good source of ALAs – alpha-linolenic acid. Rich in thiamine, a B vitamin that helps your body turn food into energy, flaxseed has a mild, nutty flavor.

Your Brekky contains whole-grain cold-milled brown flaxseed to preserve the precious flaxseed oil – one of the richest sources of ALAs. Certified gluten-free, kosher, non-GMO, and USDA organic, it’s also the freshest and most nutritious flaxseed meal we’ve found.

Organic Coconut Flakes & Coconut Oil

The coconut palm tree is often referred to as the tree of life – because virtually every part of the tree and its fruit is used in some way or another. Despite having the word “nut” in its name, coconut is actually considered to be a fruit. Coconut oil is a good source of antioxidants that help neutralize free radicals – and in turn, ward off several chronic and degenerative diseases. It also contains medium-chain triglycerides (MCTs) and lauric acid, which are thought to help us burn more fat and help protect our hearts. Unrefined coconut oil has a lovely coconut flavor – something that definitely contributes to the delicious taste of brekky!

Lovely strips of coconut flakes also add to the flavor and nutritive profile of brekky. Full of flavor and nutrition, these crunchy flakes are a good source of fat, fiber, iron, and protein. We use unsweetened coconut flakes with no sulfites or preservatives and no trans fats.

Brekky contains unrefined coconut oil and flakes that are certified USDA organic, gluten-free, kosher, and sustainably farmed.

Pure Organic Maple Syrup

You don’t want a ton of sugar for breakfast, but a little sweetness can be a good thing – particularly when it comes from a dash of pure maple syrup. Containing up to 24 different antioxidants in the form of phenolic compounds, maple syrup is a good source of zinc, copper, magnesium, and antioxidants to help reduce inflammation and chronic disease. The word “pure” is important because it means our maple syrup comes from a single source.

A healthier alternative to sugar, maple syrup can help lower cholesterol, contribute to brain health, and keep your digestive system healthy. Artificial sweeteners contribute to symptoms of indigestion like bloating, cramping, and gas, and refined sugars can be a leading cause of digestive system disorders like candida, IBS, and leaky gut syndrome.

Our pure maple syrup is 100% pure, kosher, gluten-free, and USDA organic.

Organic Ceylon Cinnamon

While there are more than 250 cinnamon plant species, there are two main categories: cassia cinnamon and Ceylon cinnamon. Cassia cinnamon is more plentiful, less expensive, and darker in color than Ceylon cinnamon. Cassia cinnamon has a stronger taste and is ten times higher in coumarin - a natural ingredient that acts as a blood thinner. Some European countries have banned cassia cinnamon because coumarin can cause liver damage and increase the risk of certain cancers.

Also known as “true cinnamon,” Ceylon cinnamon is used in most parts of Europe. Containing ten times less coumarin than its cassia cousin, it has a sweeter, more delicate flavor. Native to Sri Lanka, Ceylon cinnamon is rich in antioxidant compounds that can provide protection against heart disease and cancer, has potent anti-inflammatory properties, boosts cognitive function and brain health, may lower cancer and heart disease risk, improves digestion, helps regulate blood sugar levels, and helps boost the immune system.

The Ceylon cinnamon in Brekky is sustainably grown in Sri Lanka without artificial additives or chemicals. It is certified kosher, organic, and fair trade.

Organic Natural Vanilla

Flavorful and elegant, vanilla is known worldwide for its delicious taste and calming aroma. Rich in vanillin, a powerful antioxidant, it is also thought to have cancer-fighting and anti-inflammatory properties. A touch of vanilla can help reduce your sugar intake.

When paired with Ceylon cinnamon and a dash of maple syrup, vanilla helps give brekky its rich and naturally delicious taste.

Our organic vanilla has no GMOs, is alcohol-free, 100% natural, sugar-free, and gluten-free.

Dried Kiwifruit, Cranberries & Apricots

A sprinkle of power-packed dried kiwi, dried apricots, and dried cranberries adds natural sweetness (and a little color!). Offering a raft of nutritional benefits and a host of essential vitamins and minerals, these naturally sweet nuggets are bursting with flavor.

Per ounce, dried fruits contain more fiber and phenol antioxidants than fresh fruit. A diet rich in plant phenols can lead to reduced inflammation and lower rates of heart disease, several kinds of cancer, diabetes, and possibly even degenerative brain conditions like dementia and Alzheimer’s disease.

Our cranberries are 100 percent North American; our kiwi is kosher certified, and our dried apricots are of the naturally sweet and juicy Turkish variety.
